Further Expanding Domains Beyond Our Four Businesses
- By leveraging the strengths of our existing businesses, we aim to launch new ventures in the two domains of service mobility and energy, targeting 50 billion yen in revenue contribution by FY2030.
-
The automotive industry is facing a major transformation worldwide, with the shift towards Electric Vehicles (EVs), the increasing use of AI and the transition to carbon neutrality. Our business model may also evolve from ownership-based mobility to usage-based mobility. In new business domains, we position our response to these changes as the Service Mobility Domain, aiming to provide new value as an infrastructure mobility from two perspectives: Public Transportation Services and Work Mobility. In the Energy Domain, we aim to contribute to energy self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality initiatives in rural areas of India and Japan.
Two Domains
- Service Mobility Domain: Responding to the Shift from Ownership to Usage
-
We position the Service Mobility Domain not as an extension of our existing business domains, but as a domain that provides mobility itself as social infrastructure. Building on the reliable hardware technologies based on the philosophy of “Sho-Sho-Kei-Tan-Bi (Smaller, Fewer, Lighter, Shorter, Beauty)” that we have cultivated through our automobile, motorcycle, and marine businesses, as well as the sales and maintenance networks we have established primarily in India and Japan, we are taking on the challenge of creating mobility service models that respond to the societal shift from ownership to usage. Rather than acting alone, we aim to achieve social implementation through collaboration with a diverse range of partners, including companies, local governments, transportation operators, and communications and data platform providers.
- Energy Domain: Contributing to Energy Self-Sufficiency and Carbon Neutrality
-
In the Energy Domain, we are developing biogas and energy storage businesses. In the biogas business, we produce Compressed Biogas (CBG), a carbon-neutral fuel, from the abundant cow manure available in India's dairy regions and supply it as fuel for CNG vehicles, while selling the cow manure after biogas production as organic fertilizer. In the energy storage business, we are exploring the commercialization of storage batteries that can be used for both automotive and stationary applications. We will also promote the efficient use of renewable energy in India and Japan, with a particular focus in rural areas.
Public Transportation Service
- Glydways Collaboration Business: Proposing a New Form of Public Transportation
-
We are collaborating with Glydways, a U.S. based start-up, to develop a new transportation system that can move large numbers of people by efficiently operating mini-vehicle-sized electric vehicles on dedicated lanes. Through this efficient and convenient new transportation system --which minimizes infrastructure development and operating costs, as well as the number of vehicles, to a minimum while dispatching only as many vehicles as needed, when needed --we aim to address transportation challenges in cities around the world.
- SkyDrive Collaboration Business: Providing a New Mode of Transportation
-
©SkyDrive Inc. We are collaborating with Japanese startup SkyDrive Inc. to assist in the manufacture of a compact and lightweight electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The small air mobility vehicle, designed for three passengers, boasts minimal limitations on take-off and landing locations, making it suitable for short-distance travel within cities. Through this initiative, we aim to provide customers with a new mode of transportation that helps reduce urban traffic congestion while minimizing environmental impact.
Work Mobility
- MITRA: A Versatile Electric Platform Designed to Work Alongside Robots
-
Utilizing our proprietary technology developed over many years in motorized wheelchairs, we are developing MITRA, a versatile electric platform that can provide adaptable “legs” for robots used across various industries. By leveraging its excellent mobility and durability, we aim to provide “legs” for robots working alongside humans in various fields such as delivery, civil engineering, and agriculture. Through this initiative, we aim to connect robotics and AI technologies to practical real-world implementation.
Co-Creation with Startups and Communities
- To acquire the knowledge and technologies necessary to expand our business domains and strengthen our ties with local communities, we will collaborate with startups and pursue harmonious coexistence and mutual prosperity with the community.

To acquire the knowledge and technologies necessary to expand our business domains, we will strengthen our organization for collaboration with startups.
We aim to grow alongside the regions where Suzuki operates and the people who live there, strengthening the connection between Suzuki, society, and individuals, and increasing the number of Suzuki fans. To achieve this, we plan to support startups and local businesses in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, where our headquarters is located, as well as in rural areas of India, fostering mutual growth and development.
Collaboration with Startups

Our collaboration with startups is conducted through Suzuki Global Ventures (SGV).
We operate SGV with the support of World Innovation Lab (WiL), a prominent venture capital firm with bases in Japan and the United States.
By working with our startup partners on an equal footing, we aim to accelerate initiatives in new domains that are challenging to enter through the extension of our existing business, with a focus on acquiring new technologies and knowledge.

In India, we are pursuing initiatives to grow alongside the region and its people through Next Bharat Ventures (NBV). By nurturing and supporting impact entrepreneurs who address social issues in India, we aim to contribute to the further development of Indian society, which has nurtured Suzuki's growth. Our activities are designed to help people in India secure employment, increase their income, and lead more prosperous lives. Through Next Bharat's efforts, we hope to win fans among the “Next Billion,” so that when vehicle ownership becomes a possibility for them, Suzuki is their first choice.
Next Bharat Ventures A Suzuki Initiative
About Company: Nearly 40 years ago, Suzuki embarked on its journey, striving to make a difference in the lives of about 400 million people in India through its mobility business.
