Saturday
Saturday started with a brief 10-minute warm-up session, where Kas immediately showed competitive pace. However, track time was cut short due to a red flag interruption, limiting preparation ahead of Race 1.

Race 1 was held in extreme heat, with track temperatures reaching approximately 35°C. Starting from P22, Kas made a strong getaway but encountered early trouble on lap one after losing the front and crashing. He was able to remount and continue, albeit with a significant gap to the field, also completing his Long Lap Penalty during this phase.

A red flag on lap three brought a restart and renewed opportunity, closing the gap to the pack. Unfortunately, after the restart, Kas suffered a second crash, with damage too severe to continue, resulting in a DNF. Despite the setback, the rider remained uninjured.

The team worked late into the evening to completely rebuild the bike in preparation for Sunday.

Jeffrey Buis completed Race 1 in 10th position but was unable to extract full performance in the demanding conditions.

Rider Quotes

Jeffrey Buis (P10):
“We are not satisfied with tenth place — that’s not what we are here for. The high temperatures made the bike difficult to manage, with a lot of sliding. We need to find a solution for Race 2.”

Ferre Fleerackers (P18):
“It’s been a difficult weekend so far. I’m lacking feeling and confidence with the bike to ride the way I want. Hopefully we can improve for tomorrow.”

Sunday
Following an intensive overnight rebuild, Kas returned to the track for Sunday warm-up, where the focus was on verifying the bike after the complete rebuild. Another red flag once again limited track time, but final adjustments ensured the machine was ready for Race 2.

Race conditions were slightly improved, with temperatures dropping to around 31°C.

Starting again from P22, Kas made a strong launch and steadily worked his way through the field. Showing consistent pace, he climbed up to P12 by mid-race and looked set for a solid result. However, another incident involving a rival rider led to a crash, forcing him to retire for the second time that weekend.

Despite the disappointing outcome, the pace demonstrated during the race highlighted clear potential.

Ferre Fleerackers provided a positive result for the team, progressing from P23 on the grid to finish in a strong 8th position after an impressive charge through the field.

Rider Quotes
Jeffrey Buis:
“It was a tough weekend in Aragon. We learned a lot about the Suzuki in these high temperatures, but the results are not what we hoped for. That’s part of racing sometimes. We will keep pushing and come back stronger in Misano. Thanks to the team for their hard work.”

Ferre Fleerackers (P8):
“It wasn’t an easy weekend, but we finished on a positive note. Starting from P23 and finishing eighth shows the progress we made. Thanks to the team for their trust and support — we never gave up. We’ll take this momentum into Misano.”

Outlook
Although results did not fully reflect the team’s potential, valuable data and experience were gained under challenging conditions. The focus now shifts to the next round at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where Team Suzuki aims to return stronger and fight for improved results.
