Based on the engine used in the GSX-R1000 supersport bike for overseas markets, the power characteristics of the engine in the GSX-S1000 and S1000F were tuned to deliver powerful low- to mid-range torque without any drop in power at high rpms. The engine generates thrilling acceleration both on the street and on winding roads. Due in part to the adoption of a lightweight frame, the compact chassis delivers nimble handling and great road holding ability in a wide range of riding scenarios. Tapered handlebars with a revised angle enable a comfortable upright riding position, and both models are equipped with traction control and ABS as standard equipment. The GSX-S1000F features a distinctive fully faired design that protects the rider from the wind.
