The XL-7 is a genuine 4x4, able to adapt to any type of surfaces. It is also excellent for family transport, with seven comfortable seats in a versatile interior. The XL-7 is designed for customers who want space and comfort. With its new, previously unknown dimensions, the XL-7 is an out of the ordinary vehicle, hence its name ''XL''. In fact it is one of the largest vehicles in its category, with an overall length of 4.685 metres on a 2.80 metre wheelbase, i.e. 32 centimetres longer than the 5-door Grand Vitara. Its comfort and size make it a real rival to MPVs. The driver and his 6 passengers look out over the traffic from the raised cockpit, and there is a huge amount of storage space: folding down the seats in the second and third rows can vary the impressive volume of the luggage compartment. The active and passive safety features provide a high degree of protection for passengers, with the raised, reinforced cabin, progressive side crumple zonesdual airbags and ABS braking. Like the Grand Vitara, the XL-7 has the "Drive Select 4x4" system which enables the driver to engage 4WD while moving in a straight line (up to 100 kilometres/hour). The coil springs and gas-filled shock absorbers increase efficiency and comfort on steep inclines and tarmac roads alike. The XL-7 has a unique level of finish as standard: leather seat trims, separately adjustable front/rear air conditioning, 16 inch light alloy wheels, electrically operated sun roof with screen, radio/CD player, speed governor, remote locking, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear stick and transfer gearbox knobs. Luxurious and powerful, the XL-7 is a real top of the range 4x4 with features meeting the requirements of a segment in which comfort and driving pleasure are a priority. Its extreme versatility and favourable price level are real selling points in the face of the competition. Engine The XL-7 is powered by a light alloy 2.7 litre V6 petrol engine. It develops 127 kW (172 bhp) for 231 Nm torque. It provides a very high level of driving comfort. The fuel consumption is 10.8 litres/100 km (manual gearbox) in combined cycle driving. The XL-7 is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. |
