The Vitara is the first 4x4 to be just as at home in the city as on the open road and off-road tracks. Compact and lightweight, the Vitara is always a leader in its category in Europe due, amongst other features, to a quality-to-price ratio which is unrivalled in its market. The Vitara is available in various models, constituting a complete range of 4x4 vehicles designed to meet the requirements of a very wide variety of customers. It is available with 3 and 5 doors: - The 3-door Vitara (length: 3.63 metres, wheelbase 2.20 metres) is available in two versions, the "estate" and "soft-top" - The 5-door Vitara has a wheelbase which is 28 cm longer (2.48 metres), giving an overall length of 4.03 metres, thus providing rear passengers with more room. The 3 and 5 door Vitara have a transfer gearbox for switching to 4x4 mode by simply engaging the front transmission and selecting the transmission ratio: "high" or "ultra low" (for difficult off-road slopes). The Vitara can also move through urban traffic with its power steering and diversity of equipment providing outstanding comfort. The 3-door "estate" and "soft-top" are available with JLX finish. This finish includes electric windows and rear view mirrors, central locking, light alloy wheelsand coloured front and rear bumpersas standard. The 5-door Vitara is produced with the JLX finish and has the addition of a dual airbags. The Vitara 2.0 HDi JX provides an entry point to the range. vailable as a 3-door estate. Combined with an attractive price offer, it has a very good level of standard equipment, including power steering. Available as an option on all versions: air conditioning and metallic paint. Engine The Vitara is powered by a 4-cylinder 2.0 litre turbo-Diesel HDi direct injection engine (common rail system) which develops 64 kW (87 bhp) and 160 Nm at only 1700 rpm. It only consumes 6.4 litres/100 km in combined cycle use and can reach 160 kilometres/hour. |
