The Samurai is the versatile 4x4 par excellence. As a leader in the small 4x4 market, it adapts to all types of surfaces and is just as at home on the road as in difficult off-road situations. It combines qualities of toughness, ingenious design and practicality for daily and intensive use. The Samurai constitutes an exclusive and very complete offer on the market for compact, economical 4x4s. It is available in two versions: - The short wheelbase Samurai (2.030 mm) available as either a "soft top", "resin top" or "estate"- The long wheelbase Samurai (2.375 mm) is available in "resin top" or "pick-up" versions. Perfectly designed for off-road driving, this model has a transfer gearbox that is used to engage the front transmission to switch to 4x4 mode and to select between low and normal (high) ratio. With virtually no overhang, the Samurai can climb a 42° slope. Its 205 mm ground clearance gives it perfect protection on the most uneven surfaces. The standard equipment is functional and ideally suited to the use of the vehicle. It has power steering, a tachometer, adjustable height front seat beltsand wheel arch extensions. The front seats surround the body well, for perfect support when cornering and during off-road driving. Engine Two types of engine are available: - Petrol. An all-aluminium 4 cylinder engine in a 1.3 litre 59 kW (80 bhp) version with the short chassis on all models. This engine is very economical, with a certified combined cycle consumption of 7.10 litres/100 km and only 169 g/km of emitted CO2. - Diesel. All Samurai models (both short or long chassis) are also available with an indirect injection diesel engine. This is a 4 cylinder 1.9 litre engine, which develops 47 kW (64 bhp) and 120 Nm. The consumption of the diesel Samurai is 6.8 litres/100 km in combined cycle driving. With transmission ratios designed for these two mechanisms, the Samurai achieves remarkable levels of performance. |
