Liana

The Liana meets the requirements of today's family oriented customers, offering a generously proportioned cabin, which is practical and versatile, and with a choice of two engines: 1.3 litre and 1.6 litre.

Offering a remarkable equipment-to-price-to-comfort ratio, the Liana is a genuine alternative to the compact monoform car.
With its 2.48 metre wheelbase, the Liana distributes its large volume evenly between its passengers (895 mm rear legroom, a record in this segment) and their luggage. The volume of the boot, protected by a removable rigid parcel shelf, varies from 296 to 1062 litres depending on the configuration chosen.
The height of the vehicle gives its passengers a high viewpoint, and allows the inclusion of practical storage areas, such as a sliding tray under the front passenger seat and a storage tray under the floor of the boot. The back of the rear bench seat has even been designed to restrain heavy objects.

On the safety side, the Liana has ABS, driver and front passenger airbags, side airbags (on the 1.6 litre version), and pre-tensioned and force limiting seat belts, all fitted as standard.
The suspension of the Liana is unique: at the front it has MacPherson struts on wide L-shaped lower suspension arms with anti-plunge geometry. At the rear the large displacement MacPherson struts are guided on both sides by a longitudinal strut and articulated on long double transverse arms.

In terms of equipment, the Liana has power steering, electric windows, central door locking, electric door mirrors, alloy wheels (1.6 litre), height adjustable driver's seat and steering wheel, storage trays under the boot floor, a 55/45 fold down rear bench seat and coloured front and rear bumpers, all fitted as standard.
Air conditioning and metallic paint are available as an option.

The Liana 4x4 1.6 litre has 4WD transmission for those who want to have this additionaltraction. This is unique in this segment and at this price level.
The Liana 4x4 has a visco-coupler type central differential. Simple and lightweight (60 kg extra for the rear transmission assembly), this system is very efficient as it regulates the torque transfer from 0 to 85% naturally, with no driver intervention. The torque is automatically transferred from the front axle to the rear axle in the event of even a minimal loss of grip, in order to make full use of all the available traction.
The Liana 4x4 provides increased safety, especially in rain, and makes it easier to drive on slippery surfaces (snow, mud) without any special equipment.

Engine
Made totally of lightweight alloy, the 4-cylinder electronic multipoint injection engine is available in two sizes:
1.3 litre petrol, developing 61 kW (90 bhp), torque 116 Nm at 4750 rpm. Combined cycle consumption: 6.7 litres/10 km, maximum speed: 165 kilometres/hour.
1.6 litre petrol, developing 76 kW (103 bhp), torque 144 Nm at 4400 rpm. Combined cycle consumption: 7.1 litres/100 km, maximum speed: 171 kilometres/hour (2-wheel drive).
