1997 | Inazuma
400 cm³ street bike with the body size and refinement of a higher class model
The Inazuma is equipped with a 400 cm³ 4-cylinder oil-cooled DOHC 4-valve engine, Suzuki’s first application of oil cooling in the 400 cm³ class. Developed based on the oil-cooled engine used in the GSF750 and mounted on the same chassis as a 750 cm³ bike, the result is smooth performance in the low- to mid-rpm range and dynamic response in the high rpm range. In combination with extra-wide 170 mm tires, the presence of the Inazuma goes beyond that of a conventional 400 cm³ model, despite a dry weight of only 185 kg thanks to thorough weight reduction measures. Furthermore, a comfortable seat height of 760 mm and stable handling produce an easy-to-handle and rideable bike from city streets to twisty roads in the mountains.
