1972 | GT380
Classy model affectionately nicknamed “Sanpachi”
The GT380 combines a 380 cm³ 2-stroke air-cooled 3-cylinder engine with Suzuki’s unique and highly efficient Ram Air cooling system. Since the effectiveness of this system is comparable to liquid cooling, it realizes greater reliability for long-distance rides at high speeds. Initially, this model adopted a 180Φ twin leading shoe drum brake at the front and a 180Φ leading/trailing drum brake at the rear to ensure powerful and smooth braking force. In April of the same year, a model was introduced with a hydraulic front disc brake that requires no adjustment. Combined with a large-capacity 15-liter fuel tank and fuel economy of 35 km/L (50 km/h steady state fuel economy*), the GT380 can be ridden for long distances with ease. The quad muffler realizes a symmetrical and stylish silhouette, creating a model image similar to a 500 cm³-class motorcycle.
