High-status and practical, Suzuki’s first 250 cm³ scooter
The Skywave 250 is Suzuki’s first full-scale entry in the 250 cm³ scooter market, which accounted for around one-in-four of all sales of small motorcycles (displacement: 126 to 250 cm³) in 1997. The Skywave 250 is designed with a refined exterior that projects a sense of high status perfectly suited to a high-class scooter. Other features include an under-seat storage compartment capable of fitting an A3-sized attaché case and a convenient front storage pocket for small articles. With a low seat height of 695 mm that ensures a comfortable sitting posture, the Skywave 250 is also designed for rideability with interlocking front and rear disc brakes providing stable and powerful braking. The standard Type I is accompanied in the lineup with the Type II that features a sissy bar and other extra equipment. The Skywave 250 is equipped with a 250 cm³ 4-stroke liquid-cooled 1-cylinder engine that generates maximum horsepower of 23 PS.

2002 | Skywave 250
Even sportier second generation with enhanced fuel economy and riding performance
With this model change, the Skywave 250 was equipped with dual multi-reflector headlights and 5-spoke wheels to create an even sportier design. The new rear spoiler also helps to project a more aggressive rear view. The 250 cm³ 1-cylinder SOHC engine features the first fuel injection system for a Japanese-made scooter in its class. The engine, which generates maximum output of 17 kW (23 PS), was designed for rideability in frequently used rpm ranges as well as excellent riding performance at high speeds, while enhancing startability and fuel economy.

2006 | Skywave 250
Comfortable and fun-to-ride scooter for touring in tandem
With this model change, the Skywave 250 was equipped with a newly developed fuel-injected liquid-cooled 1-cylinder DOHC engine designed to deliver a powerful riding experience even with a passenger on board. A newly designed highly rigid frame was combined with a link-type rear suspension that delivers excellent road holding performance to ensure even greater riding comfort. The Skywave 250 is a comfortable scooter ideal for touring. It features a newly shaped large windscreen that smooths airflows and is highly effective in protecting the riders from the wind. This new model is fully equipped with other convenient features, including the Key-Less Ignition System that also helps to deter theft.
