Sporty cruiser-style bike equipped with a high-performance 4-cylinder engine
Suzuki’s second-generation 4-stroke engine is a newly designed 550 cm³ air-cooled 4-cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine equipped with Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers (TSCCs). The GSX550L incorporates this high-performance engine into a cruiser-style street bike. Improved cooling efficiency was realized by adopting an oil jet piston ring cooling system. As a result, the new engine is lightweight and compact, and generates impressive maximum horsepower of 64 PS. The GSX550L also features a double cradle frame that uses newly developed hexagonal pipes to realize low weight and high rigidity. It is also equipped with the Full-Floater rear suspension, which realizes a superb balance between handling and excellent ride comfort.
