This model is part of a series of bikes developed under the “Low Long Strong” styling concept as a counterpoint to the traditional chopper styling of mainstream American bikes. This styling concept expresses both speed and stature with individualistic features, such as flat handlebars, a wide fuel tank, and broad, powerful inverted front forks seamlessly integrated onto an imposing and rugged body with a low, long, and strong stance. The Desperado X model in the same series is equipped with both a bikini cowling and an under cowling to create an aggressive image at the front end. The 800 cm³ liquid-cooled SOHC V-twin engine delivers a powerful yet relaxed ride.

With its low forward-swept handlebars, long stretched out fuel tank, and upswept bobtail rear fender, the low-slung body lines of the M50/M800 creates a strongly futuristic impression. Every aspect of the styling features individualistic touches, including the oval multi-reflector headlight and white-lensed LED taillight. The powerplant is a powerful and easy-to-handle fuel injected 800 cm³ V-twin SOHC engine with excellent startability and fuel economy.
