Suzuki Marine South Africa would like to thank all dealers that participated in this event and also encourage Dealers that were unable to participate or be part of the campaign to join in the next campaign that will take place in September.
This was the first World Campaign for the year 2023 and we have a very strong feeling that the next campaigns will be a huge success as the environment is very important to Suzuki Marine South Africa.
Being able to be part of this good initiative makes us proud and will do our best to extend Clean Ocean awareness to our customers and community.

Inchcape Caribbean and Inchcape Barbados along with Suzuki Marine Dealer; Fisherman's Corner, organized a beach clean-up as part of our commitment with the "Clean Ocean Project".
During the event, we successfully achieved two goals: Clean up garbage on the beach and the surrounding areas; and also raise awareness about the adversity of plastics and how they affect marine life.

This activity was different in terms of the types of pollutants that existed on the beach, as the waste was at the stage of broken plastic, transforming into micro-plastic.
The weight of these pollutants was smaller and the activity was more complex, as the waste was so small that it took longer to process.
As a team we consider that this clean-up in particular represents in a more realistic way the reality of the contamination of the fauna on the beaches.
After all, the micro plastic is the most attenuating cause of death of the animal species in this type of fauna.
That is why we decided to collaborate with the NGO "Mare Nostrum" especially on this beach.

It was the first time that the Central and South American agencies had come together and conduct clean-up activities, and it was very significant that they were able to do so together.
In addition to the COP presentation at the agency meeting the day before, we requested that the participants actually participate in the cleanup activities, so that they will be more active in the clean-up activities and COP promotion in each country going forward.

The campaign is conducted at Mangrove-Tree-Coastal-Area in front of Costa del Este (a highly populated residential & commercial area of Panama City) Two rivers exit to the Pacific Ocean at this location carrying a lot of pollution unfortunately.
Overall, about 300 participants/volunteers collected and removed about 2 Tons of Trash from the beach-coast during the event.
This event was an "eye-opener" for a lot of people who are unaware about the levels of trash and pollution in our oceans.
Hope that other companies around the world get involved with similar efforts and follow the good example of Suzuki and other environmentally-friendly companies.

The CSR activity comprised of college going students & PHPL employees.
Special thanks to CIU & BMC officials for getting permissions for the clean up at the beaches.

As our first partipication in this year's Suzuki Clean Ocean Project, SPH-Marine, in collaboration with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), a government agency in the Philippines, conducted a Coastal Beach Clean-Up and Turtle Hatching Activity at San Juan, La Union last February 3, 2023. This activity marked as our 8th Clean Up Campaign since we started Suzuki Marine Business in the Philippines last 2017. This was attended by 200 volunteers from SPH, DENR and Boy Scouts of the Phiippines and we were able to gather 15 sacks of wastes. After the garbage clean up, we were able to witness the releasing of newly hatched turtles in the ocean. They have to crawl on the sand first before landing in the water to prove that they are really healthy and alive. Well keep conducting and joing this kind of actvity to ensure we protect the environment and have clear shores and clean waters now and in the future.

Our company cooperated with graduates of the local Elementary School in Chiayi Prefecture, to conduct beach clean-up activities on June 17, 2023.
Protecting the marine environment is a long-term and continuous task, so children should be educated well from an early age to prevent the destruction of marine life.
This will lead to permanent marine protection.

We are pleased that Suzuki is increasing their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by deploying “Clean Ocean Project”.It’s a good opportunity to involve all our employees to come together and contribute to the cause, and doing our small part to keep our coastlines free from debris.
We believe that this strengthens our position on the market and creates stronger ties with our authorized dealers.
Large international corporations have a big impact. We are proud to represent Suzuki in Sweden. Clean Ocean Project will help us in the communication with the end customers, who are the actual users of the product.
The Swedish market is at the forefront when it comes to environmental awareness, so the position Suzuki is taking here fits very well with the Swedish consumer.

We collected a large amount of waste and discarded rubbish that included lots of plastics, large and small – everything from bottles and food wrappers to plastic chairs and buckets. In total, we collected approximately 20 bags of rubbish plus some larger items.
We used recyclable bags to collect the smaller items and everything that was removed from the river and its banks was disposed of responsibly by our supporting Dealer, Marine Power.
