Suzuki organized the “SUV Master Experience” to give representatives from Suzuki dealerships in South Africa, Namibia and Eswatini a great opportunity to learn in detail why the Jimny 5-door and Grant Vitara are perfect fits for drivers in these southern African nations.

On 5^th and 6^th September 2024, the participants gathered at the ADA S.A. Training and Outdoor Centre in Hartbeespoot, about an hour north of Johannesburg where a special 4x4 course and camp had been set up for the event. Divided into 5 teams of 10 members each, they tested the off-road capabilities of the Jimny and the technology features of the Grand Vitara in both urban and off-road settings. Through the event they also gained a greater appreciation for the safety and innovative technical features of both models.

Behind the wheel of the Jimny 5-door, drivers navigated rough terrain, waded through a water crossing and challenged steep climbs and sharp descents. The Jimny proved how well it holds when starting on an uphill incline and how firmly in control it is when descending a steep hill. Its ample ground clearance easily climbs over obstacles.
Light and sensitive to road conditions, Jimny proved the power, handling stability and roadholding capability you need to take on the most challenging and demanding terrain.

Grand Vitara was also put through its paces off-road where the model’s ground clearance, suspension and ALLGRIP technology proved their worth. To demonstrate how it makes urban driving easier and more comfortable, the drivers tested the Grand Vitara’s handling in a stressful urban environment, highlighting the model’s maneuverability, its parking sensors, and the rearview camera that makes parallel parking easier. The teams experienced how the vehicle’s tight turning radius, steering responsiveness, and stability made tight corner driving better. The teams also competed to see whose driving over a measured distance was most fuel efficient, proving to all how well the Grand Vitara balances performance and fuel efficiency.

For the team members, Suzuki’s SUV Master Experience was a wonderful way to become even more knowledgeable about the Jimny 5-door and the Grand Vitara. It was also a pleasant opportunity to share ideas and friendship with colleagues. In comments collected from participants it seems clear that Suzuki’s Grand Vitara and Jimny 5-door will become prominent fixtures in the SUV market in the southern African region.
