Located in the center of the Indochina Peninsula, the Kingdom of Thailand continues to thrive as a center of east-west trade.
Given its long dynastic history, it overflows with a wide variety of attractive features, such as artistic, economic, culinary, and sightseeing features cultivated within that history.
This time, Suzuki is riding the GSX-R1000R "King of Sportbikes" on a tour of Ayutthaya City, the historical former capital of Thailand, Bangkok City, the rapidly developing current capital, and the Buriram GP Circuit, which is full of excitement from hosting a MotoGP race for the first time.
Even the daily morning traffic congestion, city noise, and familiar scenery looks a little different when riding on the Suzuki GSX-R1000.
Located about 90 km north of the capital, Bangkok, Ayutthaya was the capital city during the Ayutthaya period.
Once known as the city of gold, it flourished as the largest city on the Indochina Peninsula for about 400 years, starting in the 14th century.
Today, ruins from the Ayutthaya period are preserved at the Ayutthaya Historical Park, which is a registered world heritage site that attracts many tourists every year.
Bangkok city
Bangkok has been rapidly developing as the center of Thailand ever since Rama I moved the capital in the 18th century. Currently with a population over 8.5 million, it continues to grow as the political, economic, and cultural capital of the Indochina Peninsula.
While Bangkok continues to gain popularity culturally, such as by consistently ranking among the world's top ten sightseeing destinations each year, and it continues to grow as an international center of politics and economics, it also is vibrant with colorful Buddhist culture.
Buriram GP Circuit
Commonly referred to as the Buriram GP Circuit (officially named the Chang International Circuit), the circuit was opened recently, in 2014. It is also the circuit that hosted the first MotoGP motorcycle race over the world's highest peak in 2018.
Holding a MotoGP race in Thailand, where MotoGP racing was already popular, has heated up the popularity even higher.
