Crashes, mechanical damage, variable weather conditions and numerous changes of leadership made this event very dificult for both riders and machines.British Superbike rider Christian Iddon joined the team as reserve rider for this round. Beneffitting from solid teamwork and the fast pace of the reigning World Champion, and series leader, he posted the fastest time in his session with a best lap of 2.21.864. The team qualiffied in third position.The Yoshimura SERT Motul GSX-R1000R dominated the first part of the race. Black started third on the grid and led the first lap. He then engaged in a close and competitive sprint-style ffght with his main rivals before extending his lead.Siméon and Guintoli maintained the same high pace, allowing the team to increase its lead. Guintoli was particularly impressive on the SPA track, posting very fast laps, at times equalling those of the qualifying session.
