Uramoto in the mix at Motorland Aragon for Round 3 of ESBK.50Naomichi Uramoto started racing in pocket bikes at the age of seven. He moved up through mini-bikes, GP125, then to the Japanese National Championship GP125 class in 2009. He then raced through Stock 600, J-GP2 (Moto2), JSB1000 (Superbike) and in 2016 won the J-GP2 season title in his first year with Suzuki. He is currently in his fifth year in the ESBK Spanish Superbike Championship and is also a test rider with Suzuki’s MotoGP development team.In October, Uramoto joined the Buildbase Suzuki team at Donington Park for the 10th round of the British Superbike Championship in the UK, and again he turned heads on a completely different-specification GSX-R1000R along with his first time on a new circuit. In treacherous weather conditions in the first race on Saturday, he slipped off – as did many other BSB-experienced riders – but in Sunday’s two races he was in the points and impressed with two 13th-placed positions.“The hardest thing for me was getting used to the bike without electronics without traction control and anti-wheelie. This was very difficult. Also at Donington, the surface was very slippery in the wet, like ice. I am not completely satisfied because I crashed in race one but finally I am happy. The team was very supportive and they said to me that I did a good job so I am happy that they are happy too. I look forward to being able to race in BSB again.” NAOMICHI URAMOTO BIO:BRITISH SUPERBIKES - UK – ROUND 10 BIOGRAPHYBirthdate Age Birthplace Height Weight Languages CAREER HISTORY:2021 6th ESBK Spanish Superbike Championship2020 4th ESBK Spanish Superbike Championship2019 5th ESBK Spanish Superbike Championship2018 8th RFME Spanish Superbike Superstock Championship2017 13th All Japan Road Race Championship (JSB1000)2016 1st All Japan Road Race Championship (J-GP2)2015 10th All Japan Road Race Championship (JSB 1000)2014 3rd All Japan Road Race Championship (J-GP2)2013 3rd All Japan Road Race Championship (J-GP2)2012 10th All Japan Road Race Championship (J-GP2)2011 8th All Japan Road Race Championship (ST600)2010 6th All Japan Road Race Championship (J-GP3)2009 13th All Japan Road Race Championship (GP125)24/07/1994.27.Tokyo, Japan.183cm/ 6ft.67kg/ 148lbs.Japanese/ English.“It was a valuable experience for me. I would be lying if I told you that I wasn’t a bit unhappy that the regular season riders were so much faster than me, but then again, that was also good for me. I thank the team for the great opportunity.” – WSBK debutWORLD NEWS
