Gino Rea leads teammate Danny Kent at Round 3 of the championship at the first Brands Hatch round Round 11, Brands HatchThe season finale at Brands Hatch didn’t quite end with the bang the riders would have liked, but Rea carded two top 10s with Neave in the top 10 in the final Superstock race of the year. It capped a difficult season for the Buildbase Suzuki team that, in spite of many challenges, still yielded plenty of positive results and trophies to add to the collection.46Born in Tokyo, Uramoto is a former All Japan Road Race GP2 Champion and finished a credible fourth place in the 2020 Spanish Championship with two wins. The 27-year-old also made a wildcard appearance in the seventh round of the World Superbike Championship at the Navarra Circuit in Spain during August.Despite having to learn a new team, circuit, and championship, he improved his pace in free practice and, even though race one took place in treacherous conditions, he showed his ability by climbing inside the top 10 on the opening lap. Unfortunately it was short-lived after he crashed out.A dry race two saw him further demonstrate his ability, as he picked up 11 places throughout the race to collect championship points in 13th at the chequered flag. He repeated that result in race three, learning from his mistake on Saturday to take a strong result in the wet conditions.“The hardest thing for me was getting used to the bike without electronics, without traction He said of his maiden BSB performance: control and anti-wheelie. This was very difficult. Also Donington, the surface was very slippery in the wet, like ice. The team was very supportive and they said to me that I did a good job so I was happy that they were happy too.”Neave also returned to podium form, finishing third after a disastrous Oulton Park, where he qualified on pole only to twice crash out of the races.“The hardest thing for me was getting used to the bike without electronics, without traction control. The team was very supportive and they said I did a good job so I was happy that they were happy too.” – NAOMICHI URAMOTO.British Superbikes2021
