Former AMA Superbike Champion Wes Cooley died on the 16th of October 2021 from complications of diabetes. He was 65 years old. Wes won the 1979 and 1980 AMA Superbike Championships riding a Yoshimura Suzuki GS1000S. He also co-rode to victories in the Suzuka 8-Hour races in 1978, sharing a Yoshimura Suzuki GS1000 with Mike Baldwin, and in 1980 with Graeme Crosby.36WES COOLEY
