The Yoshimura SERT Motul factory Suzuki struck gold, winning the impressive 24 Heures Motos trophy in dominating style. A superb victory in their first race together. The vibe was good right from free practice when the guys put in lap times in the 1:36s. The team topped Qualifying 1 leader board with a combined average time of 1:36.429. Siméon was fastest, posting 1:36.200, Black 1:36.495 and Guintoli 1:36.592. Kazuki Watanabe in the green (reserve rider) group posted a best lap time of 1:37.076. Siméon again posted the team’s fastest lap time in Q2 of 1:35.793. The team qualified second overall with an average time of 1:35.951, just 0.147 off pole. the holeshot. He was passed early on in the lap, however, he led by the end of the second lap and never looked back. The first hours of the race were fierce as the team piled the pressure on their rivals. From then on, the Suzuki was firmly in control of the race. At the six-hour mark, one quarter of the way through, the team held a steady Black pinned his Le Mans start and took 30-second lead – everything was going to plan with smooth pit stops and no problems.Thanks to its leading status at the eighth hour of the race, Yoshimura SERT Motul earned a 10-point bonus. The three riders went on to keep a very high pace during the whole night, with the technical team ensuring very quick pit stops. At the midnight halfway point, the team was looking solid and four laps ahead. As the clock ticked past 20 hours, that margin increased to an 8 lap lead.The French-Japanese team did not make any mistakes.
