Without taking any risks, the ffrst part of the event went to plan. By the eighth hour, SERT was fourth in the provisional classification and earned a seven-point bonus.Masson, Black and Simeon put-in some fast stints, keeping the pressure on their main rivals. Two mechanical warnings (engine mounting bracket and gearshift selector) during the eighth and 10th hours forced two extra pitstops, however, SERT’s highly eficient technical staffi made rapid repairs without losing too much time.
