Conditions 24tEAM sUZUKI RACING NEWswere treacherous, and he ran wide approaching one third race distance, allowing title rival Farmer back past, and then lost the rear end trying to catch-up. In the process, he slipped off and out of contention for the title; the misery compounded further when Farmer also crashed-out which meant that McConnell would have just needed fifth place to secure the title.
