But the season opener was cruel and proved to be one of the most gruelling Bol d’Or races in years, with just 29 of the 59 competing teams making it to the finish. SERT suffered several setbacks following a chain derailment and two stop-and-go penalties after being regularly in the top-three for much of the race, held at the 5.791km circuit in Castellet, southern France. However, as many other major teams suffered even worse issues, the trio continued to climb back-up through the field with consistently-fast laps through the night and into Sunday morning, recording a total of 670-laps and seventh position at the flag; SERT currently sits just 27 points from the series lead with four more rounds to follow in France, Slovakia, Germany and the season finale at Suzuka Circuit in Japan at the end of July.26tEAM SUZUKI rACInG nEwS2017 Issue #3 - Winter‘tHE trIO COntInUEd tO ClIMB BACK-UP tHrOUGH tHE FIEld wItH COnSIStEntlY-FASt lAPS tHrOUGH tHE nIGHt And IntO SUndAY MOrnInG’
