How did you get from there to where you are here now?“Actually, it started when I won that moto in Cingoli at the JThen Ramsbacher asked me, the team was from MX2 Suzuki at that time, to ride the Nations on their factory bike, on a 250 in 2011 that was. So, I accepted that because Valentin Teillet was injured so the bike was free. That’s where I did my first race on a full factory bike, riding the ‘Nations for Switzerland in Saint-Jean-d’Angely. The year after, I entered the European 250 as part of the team. I wasn’t a full factory rider, but it was just like getting a little bit of the team. I slowly started getting involved as part of the team. It’s not like I was suddenly in from one day to the next day. It took a little bit of time. Once they started believing in me they just took me, and now I’m a real factory rider for three or four years now.”Last year was a very successful year for you, becoming Vice-a very successful Swiss GP where you were the main attraction. Talk about that and your general rise to stardom. “That was just an amazing year. Of course, we had up-and-downs, but my dream was always to race the world championships. That’s like the first step, of course, to becoming World Champion, but once you are there, it’s tough to keep improving, to keep going; and try to just beat everyone. But last year we could make it happen really well. I had good races, good results. It all came together in my home GP which was just one of my most amazing feelings of my career, of my life. It’s just like you’re basically being the hero in front of 25-30,000 people. You can’t describe that. It’s just unbelievable how cool that feels. achieved in the last year, it took all my life to get there. It gives me goose bumps talking about it.”Unfortunately, you weren’t able to win, but now this year you got your first win in WC second overall there. That’s how it all started.
