06I feel I’m not leaving with the results I wanted: I missed-out on a podium, but the team know that I’ve put 110% effort in every time I wore my Suzuki-blue leathers.” At the end of the season, the team had scored 295 points with Maverick and Aleix fourth and 11th in the championship respectively: a massive improvement on the previous season. “We are quite happy for what we have achieved,” explained Brivio following the final round of the season. “We feel we made good improvements, especially in the second-half of the season, I would say from Brno on and also after the victory in Silverstone we could fight consistently with the top riders. We still had some issues in the wet, but in dry races we were always fighting for the podium. During 2016, Maverick has grown-up very much and he could race very well, exploiting the potential of our machine. Also, Aleix was often able to fight for the podium and this was a very important sign for our development as a team.”Season Review #2THE VICTORY WAS REALLY EMOTIONAL, MY FIRST IN MotoGP AND THE FIRST FOR SUZUKI SINCE 2007. MY FEELING WITH THE MACHINE WAS PERFECT THAT DAY, I TRIED TO PUSH HARD AT THE BEGINNING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE AND THEN I JUST CONTROLLED THE RACE FROM THERE.” - MAVERICK VIÑALES.
