32TEAM SUZUKI RACING NEWS“My love with Suzuki started in 1985 as it was the first bike I owned. Years passed by and my faith towards the Suzuki brand increased and then one day I was going through some sports channels on my TV and came across Grand Prix races and I saw a Suzuki racing among the other brands. I felt so proud of owning a Suzuki,” says Keyur.“Gradually I started digging deep, trying to find-out the rider details, that of the Team Manager also; and I came across Kevin Schwantz and started following him. I loved his riding style and became a great fan of his. Inspired by him, I made my bike somewhat like Kevin’s.” Then in 2003, Suzuki’s Grand Prix Team Manager Garry Taylor ran a global competition to find Suzuki’s Biggest Fan; and Keyur was announced the winner. In his letter that accompanied a prize of team clothing, souvenirs, autographs and a signed helmet from Kenny Roberts Jnr., Taylor wrote: ‘I think this is a well-deserved win. I can't think of anyone who fits the description better!’ Roberts Jnr. even rang Keyur to congratulate him on this global accolade. At the same time, his loyalty to the Motul brand had also grown and he’d already convinced everyone in his motorcycle club to change their allegiance to the French Oil company; a range that he still considers offers a superior brand of products. He had set-up his company Kaystar Lubricants in 2002 as a dealer for Motul products and today, from his business in Surat (Gujarat), also offers bike customization. With an invitation from Motul Lubricants, long-standing #1 Suzuki ‘Superfan’ Keyur Bhagat enjoyed his first voyage outside India to join the French oil company and visited Team SUZUKI ECSTAR at the final race of the 2016 MotoGP™ Championship at Valencia in Spain in November. Here, Keyur talks about his experience and his love of the Suzuki & Motul brands that began back in the 1980s because of Suzuki’s future 500cc Grand Prix Champion Kevin Schwantz.Season Review #2
