MECHANIC KEVIN STRIJBOSD.O.B: 24 June 1972Nationality: BelgianPart of the team since 2014Dave Geurts is appointed by the team to be Kevin Strijbos’s personal mechanic. He has been his mechanic for the last three years, making it a ‘well-oiled’ machine. Dave is responsible for Strijbos’ MXGP bikes and assists him at all races. He tries to work out the particular requests from Kevin at each race depending on track type and weather conditions. Dave makes sure that the best bike is at the start gate specific to the rider’s needs. 16TEAM SUZUKI RACING NEWSDAVE GEURTSMECHANIC BEN TOWNLEYD.O.B: 21 September 1976Nationality: GermanPart of the team since 2015Jörg Pyka is new in the team. He has, however, been working as a GP mechanic for quite some time already, but now for the first time with the Suzuki team. He is the personal mechanic for Ben Townley. Jörg prepares all MXGP race bikes for Townley, building-up from an engine block to a full Rmachine. Together with the information of Townley, Jörg and SMC develop the bike to make it better for future new Suzuki bikes. He has helped the team grow from one rider in the MX2 class to two riders in MX2 and one in the EMX250 class this year. Thomas is responsible for the financial side of the team, which is supported by Suzuki Deutschland. He was a mechanic for riders such as Ken De Dycker and Kevin Strijbos. After some short time with a different team, Luc came back to join the he has been overseeing the technical aspects. He advices mechanics and aids them in their work when help is needed. He started as Ken Roczen’s mechanic in 2008 and was Clement Desalle’s mechanic for quite some time. At the end of last year, Marc made the change to become engine MX2 team. mechanic for the Marc services all RM-Z250 engines. He builds them up from the parts Suzuki sends over to the team’s headquarters in Lommel, Belgium.
