Likewise, Sylvain was one of the first people who saw Stefan’s potential and offered him a contract. Now ‘The Legend’ is back with the team where it all began. As team owner, Stefan is up for the challenge and wants to make the team a winning team again. The last few months has seen Stefan slowly changing the looks of the team and has been improving the inner workings.M. He found those aspects in a Suzuki and was more than happy to share with others. He started GRP, the company behind the Suzuki Factory team, in 1992. Sylvain is responsible for the quality and high standard that the team delivers today. He has put an enormous amount of energy into his legacy, always being the first to arrive and last to leave. team is his life’s work and he did not want to pass it on to just anyone. He looked for someone as passionate and motivated as he is. He found that person in Stefan Everts. Sylvain is still active in the team, as senior consultant, and advises and shares his experience with Stefan when needed.SYLVAIN GEBOERSMarch 1945MX TRAINERD.O.B: 6 February 1952Nationality: BelgianPart of the team since 2016The bond between the Everts and Geboers family started with Harry Everts and Sylvain. Harry was offered a contract and Sylvain offered to be his mechanic and manager of the factory Suzuki team. They both said yes and proved to be a great team, winning three world titles together. Now, all those years later, Sylvain and Harry are back in the same team helping Stefan to make it a top team again. Harry is on the sidelines at all motocross training to share his knowledge with the younger riders.The HARRY EVERTSDATA LOGGINGMay 1973D.O.B: 18 Nationality: New ZealanderPart of the team since 2007Matheson is one of the Roy team members who had been with the team the longest. He is specialised in the electronics of the bike, data logging and fuel injection. He works closely together with MC GET data, Athena and Sto make the best mappings for the bike specific to each rider and track type, finding the best setting for starts and improving the performance of the bike. He does this for the RRM-Z450, as well as for the M-Z250. ROY MATHESONSUSPENSIOND.O.B: 9 January 1967Nationality: BelgianPart of the team since 1995Frank Schroyen has seen first-hand how GRP has grown from a little ‘in the garage team’ to a state-of-the-art racing team. He has had many different functions in his time with the team. But Frank has been a mechanic for most of the years. He collected world titles with Pichon and Ramon. Evidently, he knows the bikes like the back of his hand. Today Frank is responsible for the KYB suspension on all the bikes. He works closely with KYB and Technical Touch to provide the best possible service for the riders. FRANK SCHROYENENGINE MECHANIC MXGPD.O.B: 19 February 1962Nationality: BelgianPart of the team since 2004Gerrit Zwijzen started to work for the team in 2004. From his first day Gerrit has been responsible for the engines of the RM-Z450. Building them up from the parts received from Japan, to the heart of the race machines that the riders’ mechanics put in the bike. He services all RM-Z450 engines and makes sure the engine blocks are in top shape for each race. Due to the heavy and complex race schedule, each rider has a number of engine blocks in rotation, which Gerrit services and checks race-by-race. GERRIT ZWIJZENSeason Review #1
