Yoshimura Shell Advance riders Takuya Tsuda, Josh Brookes and Noriyuki Haga were strong in the pre-Suzuka tests, practice and qualifying sessions; finishing the Top-10 Trial with second place. But the trio fought back sensationally to claim sixth position.Map SUPPLY riders Nobuatsu Aoki, Moto Josh Waters and Yoshihiro Konno scored an impressive fifth position and the second top Suzuki GSX-R1000 at Suzuka. Following strong performances in practice and qualifying, the Japanese team started in the top-20 and gradually picked-away at the leading group to move into fourth position just before the halfway point.SERT rider Vincent Philippe, Anthony Delhalle and Etienne Masson were unlucky not to score any points after an early high-speed crash and an enforced ‘stop and go’ penalty saw them languishing in 48th before the half-way stage.
