Suzuki Announces Technology Strategy 2026 for 10 Years Ahead

- Accelerating the Minimization of Energy Consumption and the Maximization of Essential Value Through Transformation in Development and Production, Delivering “Just-Right” Value to the World -

Suzuki announced its “Technology Strategy 2026 for 10 Years Ahead” on 25 September 2026.

As part of its efforts to address global environmental and resource challenges, Suzuki introduced “Minimization of Energy” in 2024 as its technological philosophy and outlined a multi-pathway approach to deliver the most appropriate technologies for different local markets. In 2025, Suzuki added “Maximization of Essential Value” to the minimization of energy consumption and defined the technologies that realize this concept as “Right × Light Mobile Tech”.

In 2026, Suzuki will further strengthen this direction by accelerating transformation in development and production to respond to the rapidly changing environment. By delivering more products to more markets more quickly, Suzuki will accelerate the minimization of energy consumption and the maximization of essential value, bringing its “Just-Right” value to customers around the world.

Key Initiatives of Technology Strategy 2026 for 10 Years Ahead

● Delivering Market-Optimized Technologies for Local Markets through the Multi-Pathway Approach

Suzuki will further accelerate its multi-pathway approach to address the diverse energy circumstances and infrastructure environments in different local markets. By responding flexibly to changes in the mobility landscape, including rising raw material and energy costs as well as stricter environmental and safety regulations, and by providing customers with “Just-Right” products, Suzuki will drive the realization of “Minimization of Energy”.

● Accelerating Product Launches Through Transformation in Development and Production

To realize the multi-pathway approach, development and manufacturing processes will be transformed simultaneously. For 2030, Suzuki will cut new vehicle development lead time by half while achieving a 30% improvement in development efficiency and a 50% improvement in manufacturing efficiency. By advancing concurrent development across engineering and manufacturing processes, deepening digital engineering, and advancing modularization, Suzuki will deliver "Just-Right" products to customers around the world more quickly.

● Strengthening the Global Business Foundation Centered on Japan and India

Suzuki will optimize product-development and mass-production development for each market by leveraging technologies developed in Japan. India will be further strengthened as a manufacturing and export hub for delivering products to customers around the world, with the aim of achieving an annual production capacity of approximately 4 million units in fiscal 2030 and beyond.

● Promoting Local Resource Circulation through the Biogas Business

The third biogas plant in India commenced operations in August 2026. By utilizing biogas derived from cow dung as a fuel source and returning organic fertilizer as by-products to local communities, the initiative aims to establish a sustainable local resource circulation model. By combining this approach with the already widespread use of CNG vehicles, both the community-based carbon neutrality and the realization of multi-pathway approach will be further promoted. This business operation is being driven as part of the Japan-India Cooperative Biogas for Growth (CBG) Initiative, which was agreed upon by the governments of Japan and India in July 2026.

● Delivering "Just-Right" Products Through Team Suzuki

“Team Suzuki”, Suzuki's core strength, is a culture which pursues overall optimization across functions and borders beyond organizational and geographic boundaries. In the development of “e SKY”, this approach achieved significantly extended driving range on a single-charge. By optimizing technologies for each local market, Suzuki will deliver “Just-Right” products that provide truly necessary value to customers around the world.

● Bringing “Right × Light Mobile Tech” into Products

Suzuki will bring “Right × Light Mobile Tech”, which achieves both the minimization of energy consumption and the maximization of essential value, into products. Suzuki will develop technologies including series HEVs, the new hybrid system (development name: Super Ene Charge), newly developed direct-injection turbo engines, the safe and lightweight “S Light”, and SDV Lite. Suzuki will not only evolve these technologies individually, but also combine them to suit for needs of each market and use case to deliver “Just-Right” value to customers.
