Suzuki Launches Mini-Vehicle Sized Models with 660cc Engines in Brunei

Announced at the 50th Anniversary Ceremony of Boustead,
Suzuki's Distributor in Brunei

Boustead Sdn. Bhd (hereinafter "Boustead"), Suzuki's distributor in Brunei, has launched the Alto and Every that feature the same body size and engine displacement as Japanese mini-vehicles, and produced by Suzuki's Pakistani subsidiary Pak Suzuki Motor Company. The introduction of the two models was announced on 27 August at a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of Boustead's appointment as a Suzuki distributor, held at the Airport Mall Atrium in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.
This marks the first time for Suzuki to export from an overseas production base models having the same body size and engine displacement specifications as Japanese mini-vehicles.
With the launch of the Alto and Every, Suzuki is expanding its automobile lineup in the Brunei market. In addition, Boustead announced that it will begin handling of Suzuki motorcycles, with sales scheduled to commence around autumn 2026.

The ceremony was attended by Yutaka Kikuta, Ambassador of Japan to Brunei, as well as Lim Jin Lee, Executive Manager of Boustead, Masafumi Harano, Managing Officer and Executive General Manager, Automobile Marketing-Asia, Latin America and Oceania of Suzuki, Takashi Ise, Managing Officer and Executive General Manager, Motorcycle Operations, and representatives of distributors and business partners. Approximately 120 people attended the event.

Brunei is a market with a high vehicle ownership rate per capita, where automobiles are widely used as an everyday means of transportation, including commuting to work and school. Boustead imports and sells a wide range of compact, easy-to-drive models centered on SUVs, including the Jimny 3-Door/5-Door, Ertiga, and Fronx. For motorcycles, Suzuki plans to introduce popular large-displacement models primarily intended for touring and leisure riding, including the Hayabusa, GSX-S1000GX, and GSX-8R.

Comment from Masafumi Harano, Managing Officer and Executive General Manager, Automobile Marketing-Asia, Latin America and Oceania, Suzuki

Suzuki aims to be an 'infrastructure mobility closely connected to people's lives.' Brunei, where automobiles play an essential role in daily transportation, is a market that strongly aligns with this philosophy. It is also a promising growth market, where we expect further business expansion through the introduction of mini-vehicle sized models announced today, as well as motorcycles that offer the joy and excitement of riding. Under our corporate slogan, 'By Your Side,' Suzuki will continue to listen closely to our customers in Brunei and provide mobility solutions suited to the characteristics of the market. Together with Boustead, we will contribute to regional development and enriched lifestyles while moving forward toward the next 50 years of our partnership."
