Suzuki Starts Commercial Production at Plant D
in Hansalpur in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (hereinafter, “Maruti Suzuki”), an Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation (hereinafter, “Suzuki”), has commenced commercial production at Plant D, the fourth plant at its Hansalpur manufacturing facility, on 30 July. The Plant D, with an annual production capacity of 250,000 units, will produce the battery electric vehicle, “e VITARA”. Hansalpur manufacturing facility commenced commercial operations with Plant A in February 2017 and has progressively expanded production capacity, with the start of operations at Plant D increasing the facility’s total annual production capacity to 1 million units. This marks the first time in Suzuki's history that the total annual production capacity of a single manufacturing facility has reached 1 million units.
Suzuki currently operates four manufacturing facilities in India: Gurugram, Manesar, Hansalpur, and Kharkhoda. With the introduction of the new plant, Suzuki’s total annual production capacity in India will reach 2.9 million units.
In addition, Maruti Suzuki reached a basic agreement with the Government of Gujarat in January 2024 regarding the construction of a new plant in Sanand, which will become its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The plant is planned to commence production by 2029, with the initial annual production capacity of 250,000 units.
Suzuki will continue to expand its production capacity in India and aims to establish an annual production capacity of 4 million units in the 2030s.
