Suzuki Launches First Flex-Fuel Automobile in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the Indian automobile subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has unveiled the “Wagon R FFV”, Suzuki’s first flex-fuel automobile. Mass production of automobiles equipped with this technology marks a first in the Indian automotive industry. The inaugural ceremony was held at a hotel in New Delhi in the august presence of Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Flex-fuel vehicles can operate on any blend of ethanol and petrol. From an environmental perspective, they help reduce particulate matter (PM) emissions, thereby contributing to improvements in local air quality.
In addition to hybrids, BEVs, and CNG/CBG vehicles, Suzuki is advancing the development of diverse environmental technologies, including the newly introduced flex-fuel vehicles, and will continue to provide technologies tailored to regional energy conditions and customer needs.
