Suzuki Invests in movus technologies, a mobility service startup, through “Suzuki Global Ventures” in Indonesia
SUZUKI MOTOR CORPORATION (“Suzuki”) has invested in movus technologies Inc. (“movus”; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Taketora Sakai) through its corporate venture capital fund, Suzuki Global Ventures (“SGV”).
movus is a Japanese startup that provides an eco-car subscription service in Indonesia for ride-hailing drivers by combining IoT devices with its proprietary credit assessment system, which utilizes data obtained via smartphones and other sources. Under this service model, users can ultimately acquire ownership of a vehicle while using it through monthly payments. By enabling highly accurate credit assessments, the service also provides access to financing for individuals who have traditionally faced difficulties qualifying under conventional financial services.
Since entering Indonesia in 1970, Suzuki has positioned the country as a core market within ASEAN and has steadily expanded its business operations there. Today, Suzuki offers a diverse lineup of models in Indonesia, including Fronx, Carry, and eVitara, which are widely used by customers. Through movus’s services, Suzuki expects to create additional opportunities to connect with a broader customer base.
