Suzuki’s India Motorcycle Subsidiary, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited Holds 20th Anniversary Ceremony

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (hereinafter, “SMIPL”), a 100%-owned motorcycle subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation (hereinafter, “Suzuki”) in India, celebrated 20 years since its start of production at the plant in Gurugram in the state of Haryana in 2006. On this special occasion, SMIPL held a 20th anniversary ceremony at the India International Convention and Expo Centre (Yashobhoomi) in New Delhi, India on 22 April 2026. The ceremony was held in the presence of Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President of Suzuki, and Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of SMIPL with approximately 1,200 people from motorcycle dealers and relevant parties attending the ceremony.

Since starting production of the HEAT and ZEUS in February 2006, SMIPL has provided customers in India and overseas with a variety of motorcycles, including ACCESS and GIXXER series, designed to suit a wide range of lifestyles. In addition, SMIPL produces and sells models such as the new e-ACCESS, Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV motorcycle, and the GIXXER SF 250, which uses fuel with ethanol concentrations ranging up to 85%, advancing initiatives toward the realization of a carbon-neutral society through a multi-pathway approach.

In January 2026, SMIPL achieved cumulated motorcycle production of 10 million units and is playing a vital role as Suzuki’s largest motorcycle production hub. In addition, amid the continued rise in demand of motorcycles in the Indian market, SMIPL is constructing a new plant in Kharkhoda to expand production capacity in line with market growth.
