Maruti Suzuki India Limited (hereinafter, “Maruti Suzuki”), an Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation (hereinafter, “Suzuki”), reached a basic agreement with the State of Gujarat in January 2024 regarding the construction of the second plant in Gujarat, and the acquisition of the land was announced in January 2026.
In this regard, Maruti Suzuki announced today the commencement timing and investment amount for the first production line at the new plant.

The first production line is planned to have an annual production capacity of 250,000 units, with the aim of commencing operations by 2029. Investment is planned to be 101.9 billion rupees in the first production line, including plant buildings, production equipment and common infrastructure.

The construction of the new plant is intended to respond to the growth of the Indian automobile market and the expansion of vehicle exports from India. Suzuki will continue to contribute to the “Make in India” initiative.
