Suzuki Sponsors India Hamamatsu Festival 2025
Suzuki Motor Corporation will sponsor the India Hamamatsu Festival 2025, which will be held on 13 and 14 September 2025 at Shinkawa Mall in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Launched last year, the India Hamamatsu Festival has become a place where Indian residents can connect with their culture, find peace of mind and vitality, and feel a bond with the local community through the spirit of Hamamatsu. For Japanese people as well, this festival naturally fosters understanding and respect for Indian culture, symbolizing the practice of multicultural coexistence rooted in Hamamatsu.
In recent years, Japan has accelerated the acceptance of Indian human resources and economic and personnel exchanges between Japan and India, with efforts underway to reach a scale of 500,000 people traveling between the two countries. Within this international expansion, the festival offers a valuable opportunity to experience and share this trend at the regional level. This year, local companies, organizations, and citizens will join forces to further expand the festival as a unique exchange platform where people and cultures intersect in Hamamatsu.
Since beginning production of automobiles in India in 1983, Suzuki has contributed to the development of the Indian automotive industry, achieving a cumulative production of 30 million automobiles in March 2024 and a cumulative export of 3 million automobiles from India in November 2024.
In January 2024, to enhance the dining environment for Indian employees working in Japan, Suzuki began offering authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine at its headquarters employee cafeteria. Furthermore, starting June 2025, with the desire to promote the appeal of India in Japan and deepen cultural ties, the Indian vegetarian dishes served at the headquarters cafeteria were commercialized as packaged products under the name “Suzuki Cafeteria Indian Vegetarian Curry”. At the festival venue, TORIZEN, which supplies Indian vegetarian dishes to Suzuki’s employee cafeteria, will have a booth where visitors can enjoy these dishes. In addition, Suzuki Business Co., Ltd. will sell the “Suzuki Cafeteria Indian Vegetarian Curry”.
As a leading company in India, Suzuki will continue various initiatives to serve as a bridge between India, Japan, and Hamamatsu.
