Suzuki Achieves Accumulated
Automobile Exports of 3 Million Units from India
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (Maruti Suzuki), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has achieved accumulated automobile exports of 3 million units on 24 November 2024. Models including the Fronx, Baleno, and Jimny were exported to Africa from the Pipapav Port.
Maruti Suzuki commenced export of vehicles from 1986, and first large shipment was exported to Hungary in 1987. The company achieved its first million in 2012, in 26 years. The second million was achieved in little less than 9 years since the first million. The progression from 2 million to 3 million accumulated exports was achieved in just 3 years and 9 months, making it the fastest million for the company.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki exports 17 models including the Fronx, which began its exports to Japan in August 2024, as well as the Baleno and Dzire, to nearly 100 countries and regions centered in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East markets. The company is the No. 1 passenger vehicle exporter with approximately 280,000 units exported in FY2023*.
