Suzuki Unveils the All-New Celerio in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has launched its All-New compact car, the Celerio. Sales in India will begin in November, and it will also be exported to Latin America, Middle East, Africa, etc.

Since its launch in India in 2014, the Celerio has been a key model, renowned for its compact design yet spacious interior and luggage space. The all-new Celerio has a renewed styling design, with a new engine and platform, resulting in a lighter weight and improved fuel economy.

For the exteriors, the sharp headlights and aggressive front grille gives it an impressive front look, while the flowing lines of the body makes up the dynamic shape of the vehicle. As for the interiors, leg room has been expanded by changing the layout of the seats, which offers improved comfort while maintaining enough luggage space. In addition, the All-New Celerio has a 7-inch touch panel display audio with smartphone connectivity.

The thermal efficient Dualjet engine has been mounted to the lightweight but highly rigid Suzuki HEARTECT platform. In addition to the 5-speed manual transmission, the Auto Gear Shift (AGS), which is an MT-based automated transmission that does not require clutch operation, is also available.

The FY2020 passenger vehicle market in India was 2.71 million units, of which nearly half was a hatchback like the Celerio. Maruti Suzuki intends to gain customers who are purchasing their first vehicles or changing them, by introducing the new Celerio, whose main target is entry car or additional car users. It will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar Plant.
