First Win of Season for Suzuki’s Alex Rins at MotoGP 11th Round
Joan Mir Leads the MotoGP World Standing

Team SUZUKI ECSTAR’s Alex Rins aboard the GSX-RR won in the MotoGP class of the FIM* Road Racing Grand Prix (MotoGP) 11th round held on 18 October 2020 at the MotorLand Aragon in Spain. His teammate Joan Mir also achieved the third place podium to lead the MotoGP world standing.
Although Rins started the race from the 10th starting grid, by the 6th lap, he jumped up to second, right behind Maverick Vinales (Yamaha). He then became a race leader at the end of the 8th lap, and defended his lead by winning the battle with Alex Marquez (Honda) to win for the first time this season.
Also, Mir started from the 6th starting grid and went up to third in the 8th lap. He was second at some time during the race, but held the third position to achieve his fifth podium of the season.
Rins suffered from an injury which made him skip the season start and forced him to race with pain in the following races. However, third place podium in the 9th round Catalunya GP and his first win brought him up to seventh in the MotoGP world standing. This is the third win of his MotoGP career since his last win at the British GP in August 2019.
Mir became the leader with 121 points, while the team also became the leader in the standing.
