Maruti Udyog Limited celebrates on their four million units production
Maruti Udyog Limited (Maruti) in India reached the cumulative production units of four million on April 19, 2003. The memorable four-millionth vehicle was an Alto.

Since the start of production of the Maruti 800 on December 14, 1983, Maruti has been producing the Omni, Esteem, Zen, Baleno, Wagon R, Alto, and Versa. They achieved one million units in March 1994, two million in October 1997 and three million in June 2000.

Maruti held a tape-cut ceremony in the Plant 2 to celebrate the four million units achievement. At the ceremony, Mr. Jagdish Khattar, the Managing Director of Maruti Udyog Limited, commented that this achievement had proven their responsibility and commitment to their customers to deliver high-quality products. He also emphasized that they would keep pursuing higher standards in the production in order to further satisfy the customers who had driven them to this accomplishment.
