New Assembly Line in Kosai Plant Starts Production
Suzuki Motor Corporation has completed the construction of a new assembly line in Kosai No.1 Plant (Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture) that produces mini and compact passenger vehicles.

Kosai No.1 Plant, which started its operation in October 1970, covers all the production process - pressing, welding, painting, and assembling. This is the first time to fully renew its assembly facility, although the plant underwent several minor modifications and a renewal of the paint line, as the production volume increased or the facilities became old.

The total production capacity of Kosai Plant will remain unchanged, however, the new line will aim higher efficiency and higher quality at lower cost.

Floor space: 21,000 m2
Total cost of construction: 11 billion yen
Number of employees: 450
