The first round of the
2001 Asia Pacific Rally Championship was held in Canberra, Australia from May
4 to 6. The Ignis Super 1600, driven by Mr. Nobuhiro, “Monster”, Tajima, made its debut, which was eagerly awaited since the launch at Paris Motor Show last year. The Ignis had to retire in the 1st and 2nd day (Leg 1 and 2) due to mechanical troubles, but finally won the class in the 3rd day (Leg 3).
