Each year from 1994 to 2008, Suzuki entered the VITARA in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, a race held every year in the US state of Colorado. As the name suggests, this event is a race to the summit of Pikes Peak, a mountain with elevation of 4,301m in the Colorado Rockies. To participate in this gruelling course, also known as “The Race to the Clouds,” Suzuki modified the VITARA almost beyond recognition. This hard work paid off with the gratifying experience of victory in in the overall standings.
