1987 | GSX-R250
A 250 cm³ model with the pedigree of the GSX-R
This model was developed under the GSX-R series concept. Combining a lightweight chassis, a 4-stroke liquid-cooled 4-cylinder DOHC 4-valve 250 cm³ engine, and a 4-into-1 muffler equipped with the Suzuki Power-up Exhaust System (SPES), the GSX-R250 realizes excellent dynamic performance, including maximum horsepower of 45 PS and maximum torque of 24.5 N·m. Powerful braking force is achieved through double disc brakes at the front and single disc brakes at the rear. The GSX-R250 adopts 17-inch ultra-low-profile tubeless tires, and its styling creates a muscular racing impression through features such as aerodynamics fairings and a dual headlight.

Advanced styling with powerful riding performance
Based on the GSX-R250, this model has styling inspired by an endurance racer with a larger category body size. This model is equipped with a high-revving 4-stroke liquid-cooled 4-cylinder DOHC 4-valve 250 cm³ engine engineered to reduce the friction loss of the valve train. Superlative riding performance is realized through the adoption of features such as large-diameter 290 mm disc brakes (the same size as those usually adopted on 400 cm³-class bikes), a highly rigid and lightweight ALBOX frame, the first subframe-equipped swingarm on a 4-stroke 250 cm³-class bike that was developed through feedback from racing bikes, and low-profile radial tires at the front and rear. A sport production race version debuted at the same time.

The GSX for a new generation developed under the concept of “The Urban Athlete”
The GSX250R is a global street bike that was unveiled in Italy at the Milan Motorcycle Show in November 2016 as a fully faired bike developed based on the GSR250 that debuted in 2012. Its 250 cm³ 4-stroke liquid-cooled 2-cylinder engine complies with Japan’s 2016 emissions regulations. Thorough measures to reduce friction and raise combustion efficiency enhance rideability at low and medium speeds, and ensure versatile performance on the streets. The agile styling of the GSX250R expresses an image of nimble performance cutting through urban or suburban streets with ease. Its sporty design features compact lines that converge toward the end of the tail fairing. Other features, including separate clip-on handlebars, and independent rider and passenger seats, also help to realize a supremely comfortable riding position.
