1998 | Skywave 400
Suzuki’s first 400 cm³ scooter with effortless and fun-to-ride performance even in high-speed cruising
Accompanying the 250 cm³ Skywave 250 that debuted in February 1998, Suzuki launched the top-of-the range Skywave 400 in October of the same year as the company’s first 400 cm³ scooter. To deliver effortless riding performance and acceleration in high-speed cruising, the Skywave 400 features a 400 cm³ liquid-cooled 4-stroke 1-cylinder SOHC 4-valve engine that generates maximum horsepower of 32 PS with low vibration thanks to the action of a single-axis balancer. Large 13-inch tires that provide excellent stability for high-speed riding are paired with a link-type monoshock rear suspension, and interlocking front and rear disc brakes deliver stable and powerful braking.

2002 | Skywave 400
An even sportier rider-friendly evolution of the classic scooter
With this full model change, the Skywave 400 was equipped with dual multi-reflector headlights and 5-spoke wheels to create an even sportier and elegant design. Rider friendliness was enhanced by substantially increasing the size of the front storage compartment from 3.2 to 10.2 liters, and expanding the space under the seat to fit an A3-sized attaché case. The liquid-cooled 4-stroke 1-cylinder SOHC 4-valve engine is fuel injected for even greater fuel economy and startability.

2006 | Skywave 400
Powerful and comfortable even for riding in tandem
With this model change, the Skywave 400 was equipped with a newly developed fuel-injected liquid-cooled 4-stroke 1-cylinder DOHC engine designed to deliver a powerful riding experience with both a rider and passenger on board. Double disc front brakes were newly adopted for higher stopping performance. Greater riding comfort was achieved through a newly designed highly rigid frame, link-type rear suspension that delivers excellent road holding performance, and a large windscreen with a new shape that is highly effective in protecting the riders from the wind. Convenience is also improved through the adoption of the Key-Less Ignition System that also helps to deter theft. The Skywave 400 is also complemented by a Type S model that features a smaller smoked windscreen.

Luxury scooter with a world-famous brand name
A slimmer and sportier evolution of the Skywave 400 with agile looks creating a thoroughly elegant design, this model was brought under the umbrella of Suzuki’s world-famous BURGMAN brand of large scooters. Thorough weight reduction across the whole bike enable both greater maneuverability and an abundant 42-liter under-seat storage compartment. The liquid-cooled 4-stroke 1-cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine delivers higher low- to mid-range torque, rapid throttle response, and powerful acceleration. Both the twin left/right headlights and rear combination lights are equipped with LEDs.
