1979 GS1000 riders Ron Pierce, Wes Cooley and David Emde take 1-2-3 finish at AMA Superbike Daytona 100-mile. Cooley is AMA Superbike series champion, while Pierce is 2nd for the season, both on a Yoshimura Suzuki GS1000.
1978 Yoshimura rider Steve McLaughlin piloting a GS1000 wins AMA Superbike Daytona. Wes Cooley/Mike Baldwin team piloting a Yoshimura Suzuki GS1000 wins the inaugural Suzuka 8-hour Endurance Road Race held in July.
1977 August

Yoshimura enters the Suzuki GS750 for the first time in the AMA Superbike series, takes first win at Laguna Seca in September.
