Suzuki at the16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition

Suzuki Motor Corporation has exhibited two concept models and the BOOSTERJET, Suzuki’s new 1.4L direct-injection turbo petrol engine, at the 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, which is being held in China from 20 April, 2015*.

Concept models iK-2 and iM-4

The iK-2 and iM-4 have made their China premiere.

The iK-2 is a compact car which realises all elements expected in a car of this size — design, utility, comfort, manoeuvrability, driving performance, fuel efficiency at a high level. Suzuki plans to launch production model based on the iK-2 in China.

The iM-4 is a vehicle of a whole new genre offered by Suzuki, who has been constantly delivering innovative products in the compact SUV and crossover categories. The iM-4 opens up new possibilities and new ways to have fun. Suzuki is considering launching production model based on the iM-4 to exploit new category in China.

The BOOSTERJET, Suzuki’s new 1.4L direct-injection turbo petrol engine

World premiere has been made for the BOOSTERJET, Suzuki’s new 1.4L direct-injection turbo petrol engine, which realises improvement of fuel efficiency by incorporating direct-injection technology, while boosting output and torque with a turbocharger.

Besides delivering excellent fuel efficiency and dynamic performance, this compact, lightweight engine features an optimised layout and weight-reduction technology in order to meet rigorous size and weight requirements in vehicle development. China will be the first market where Suzuki launches the model installed with the BOOSTERJET before expanding it globally.

New Vitara: The new Vitara is currently being refined to suit the tastes of Chinese customers and is going to be released by the end of this year.
