The 64th Frankfurt Motor Show

Suzuki exhibits the sporty, exciting new Swift Sport at the 64th International Motor Show (IAA) Cars show in Frankfurt.

New Swift Sport

The new Swift Sport has the same DNA as its predecessor but reflects the concept of developing a refined sport compact from the new Swift. Befitting its status as the new performance flagship of the Swift series, it reflects the pursuit of even better handling, driving performance, and environmental compatibility and an uncompromising focus on quality.

Exterior

The new Swift Sport’s exterior design reflects an evolution toward an aggressive and dignified look. A big front grille evokes high performance and is flanked by distinctive finned foglamp bezels for a more aggressive, dignified character. Newly developed high-intensity discharge headlamps with a metallic-grey coating and newly developed rear combination lamps with a cylindrical design heighten the dynamism expressed by the exterior design.

Interior

Sporty, exclusive design features in the new Swift Sport’s cabin heighten driving pleasure, and a high-quality interior look and feel generates pleasure of ownership. A five-dial meter cluster combines easy legibility with an uncluttered look. Soft leather on the steering wheel allows a natural-feeling grip for easy operation and a sense of refinement. The front sport seats not only offer greater support but also have exclusive fabrics and stitching that heighten excitement about the driving experience.

Performance

Since the new Swift Sport is the performance flagship of the Swift series, Suzuki heightened its handling and other attributes of driving performance.

The M16A engine, thanks to addition of a variable intake system and optimization of the intake VVT, the driver enjoys great-feeling performance across the rev range. Combined with a newly designed six-speed manual transmission, it gives great driving performance and fuel economy.

Safety

The new Swift Sport represents an evolution in terms of safety. Extensive use of high-tensile steel and the benefits of computerized structural analysis keep the body light while promoting impact safety. Seven airbags (including curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag), and an ESP®, and many other items of safety equipment are standard.

Note: ESP® is a registered trademark of Daimler AG.

Production of the new Swift Sport will begin in October at Suzuki’s European manufacturing base, Magyar Suzuki in Hungary. Market launch will follow sequentially in European countries.
