Suzuki Motor Corporation is pleased to announce that Suzuki achieved increased global automobile sales volume of 2,589 thousand units (112% y-o-y) for the first time in three years owing to increased sales in Asian market particularly in India.
The sales volume remained the same as the previous year. The market slowdown after October due to the termination of the government subsidies for eco-friendly car purchases, however, the new Swift contributes sales increase.
The sales volume decreased year-on-year owing to the market slowdown after the termination of the car scrapping scheme of each government which was launched in 2009 and sales decline by the influence of exchange rates.
The sales volume in Asia except Japan increases year-on-year thanks to increased sales of India and ASEAN market.
